Sure, it works in practice…

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Me, wearing a fine red striped shirt from Banana Republic I’ve been a PhD student at the University of Michigan School of Information since Fall 2008. My work is interdisciplinary, encompassing computer science, design and economics, particularly game theory. I have a BA in Mathematics (yes, it’s an art) from Carleton College, where I created CarlWiki, a student-run encyclopedia of all things Carletonian.

During the summer after my first year of PhD pursuit, I used my spare time to produce Quocial, a social bookmarking service with sophisticated full-text search capabilities. (A more complete description can be found in this blog entry.) I’m currently seeking funding for a startup concept I’ve dubbed Theoryville, a new and simpler way for researchers to work with their data.
